Looks like I'm the first registered user other than yourself Leo!
I'm Alex. Most people call me by my nickname sid however. I'm 24, live in Adelaide in Australia.
I currently work in a large high school as a networking assistant and I'm studying a Certification in Information Technology. I've also been a graphic designer since the young age of 17 and make some money on the side doign freelance work for graphic design, web design and web hosting type stuff.
I also run a few websites myself, I have my blog which is experimental, my businesses website (but doesn't need much maintaining), I also have a community forum for gamers/geek inclined where they can share various issues on the internet and hear from people who have had similar experiences and ask advice. It's a small community but grows with a few members each month. :)
I spend my days working, listening to music and dealing with thousands of kids. I like to unwind either out having the occasional beer with friends or my hobby of photography. I can always be found with headphones in too :)

Guess we get to be early adopters, sid. :)
My name's Jack. I'm 26 and live in the southwestern US, where I work in finance for a private school. Of course, what I really want to be is a poet, but that doesn't pay the rent. I think half the reason I read blogs about blogs is in the hope that some day I'll be able to make a living doing something that gives me that much more free time to pursue what I really want to do.
Like sid, I run a website on the side -- a still-new site about Chinese mythology, as well as my personal (read: non-topic-specific) blog. My interests run towards reading, writing, and sketching.
BTW, sid, I like the layout on your site. Very minimalist. I'll have to check out those forums.

It's actually the same wordpress theme Leo uses on Zenhabits. Called "White as milk" but I've edit a few bits and pieces to match and I'll probably use it until I finish working on my own to match in with the name of my site :) I think people don't see the similarity because Leo has a lot of content on his and advertising where as I've only been up a month, but I've already had 10,000 hits since I got it started.
The community forums are at www.ageekslife.net (sorry for advertising leo!), and I have to approve the membership as I get a lot of spam bots on occasion and have to keep it moderated. Also you can't see the content in the forums, just the forum names as I have to give some privacy to the people on there.
At the moment there is a lot of people who are going through weight loss plans (like myself) and several recipes for geeks :)

Hello all,
I'm from Michigan as well. I teach elementary music, read a lot a science fiction-fantasy lit, and maintain a forum for my family. I own the domain for my name, but I haven't put anything up yet. I'd like to be more active and the June challenge went really well for me. So, here I am.
Don't feel bad about advertising Sid, I was going to ask for the name anyway.

Hey all.
I'm Nick, 23, from Sydney, Australia. I'll hopefully soon be starting a PhD *crosses fingers* and would like to get my life in order before I embark on such an undertaking. The June challenge worked well for me - I am now in the habit of waking at 5am daily (usually). My passion is for science and IT, music and water sports (swimming, surfing, sailing, etc). I have a degree in nanotechnology and am interested in researching ways to break down pollution and greenhouse gasses through catalysis. In the short term I want to develop my dabblings in web development and design into a small business for some additional income, get back into piano, and learn basic Japanese for an upcoming holiday in Japan.
And that's me in a nutshell. Not sure how I got in this nutshell, but there you go.
Nick

Hello zen habitants :D
My name is Tommy,29 from Antwerp, Belgium. Since 2 years i work as a self employed electrician after 8 years of working for various bosses.
I needed to do this because i have a very strong urge to take control over my own life and am not very good with people telling me what to do.
Doing so unfortunately also led to a great deal of chaos in my life, and a whole lot of bad habits i need to get rid of.
I look forward to accomplish my goals together with you guys, and seeing eachother succeed at their goals will be a great motivator.
Thanks Leo for creating this blog, i'm very happy i found it as it might give me the motivation to put my life back on rails!

"Zen habitants" -- I like it.
My name is J.D. Roth and I live in Portland, Oregon. By day I work for the family business, which manufactures boxes. But by night, I run a personal finance weblog. Zen Habits is one of my favorite productivty sites. It's awesome. Thanks, Leo.
I've always had issues with self-discipline, issues that have been apparent in every aspect of my life, from money to food to exercise to time-management to relationships to whatever. I'm 38 now, and this lack of discipline is no longer amusing. I've made great strides over the past two years to develop some discipline. I have the financial stuff licked now, it would seem, but still struggle in other areas, especially time-management and food.
I look forward to chatting here!

My name is Sam and I'm a 20 year old college student who currently lives in Michigan but will be returning to school in Ohio in the fall. I am studying to be a high school social studies teacher and hope to coach hockey as well. I have a recently re-focused blog in which I write about a lot of Zen Habits-esque topics, but from the view of a college student.

My name is Cecily and I'm 29 years old. I live in Pennsylvania. I'm expecting my first child any time now (July 18th at the very latest!). I've been a regular reader of Zen Habits for about 4 months and I really like it. Thanks for the inspiration and advocating the 'slow and steady approach', Leo.
I just finished my MA in teaching before I got pregnant, so while I am currently a stay-at-home-mom-to-be, I can't wait for the little one to go to school so that I can put my degree to use, hopefully teaching middle or high school math.
Some things about me (goals and such):
I'm a voracious reader, but I'd like to put a bit more time into reading non-fiction instead of just fiction books. I know what I want to read, it's just a matter of prioritizing my reading list.
I'd like to learn about using a graphics program, like GIMP, at some point.
I can't wait to put new gardens in at my new house (we moved in November), but digging is out of the question with this big ol' belly of mine for this season.
I want to take up the piano again; I've sort of maintained a certain level of skill, but I really would like to progress beyond that sometime in the future.
I want to work on organizing and decluttering my house (and computer...I'm looking at you, giant folder of digital photos!).
I'm generally an avid exerciser, and have been certified as a group exercise instructor in the past. With our new home, we have an exercise room, so I'm not certain I'll be joining a gym until my little one needs some activities at the YMCA or such. Right now my program is a bit curtailed b/c of my pregnancy, but I do 30 minutes of cardio a day, along with some stretching. One of my goals after having my child is to lose my 'baby weight'.
I guess all of these things kind of go along with one big goal in my life: to keep learning things. I've always loved school. I guess that's why I'm going to be a teacher, and I have tons of things that I want to know about. Some others: I'd like to up my proficiency in Spanish, learn to ball-room dance, learn about and try my hand at designing textile-type patterns (a la William Morris), and know more about human physiology and nutrition.

Hi! I'm Rebecca. I'm 30 years old and completing a PhD in Musicology.
I'm a GTDer (not hardcore) and enjoy trying to simplify my life (note the word of the use "trying") :)
I just moved to the East Coast after 30 years on the West. I'm getting attuned to the different rhythm.
(I am actually writing this from California, but I return to the East on Tuesday).
I'm looking forward to the completion of my dissertation so that I can return to many things I enjoy.

Hi everybody,
my name is KayB and I'm living in Ireland, though I'm not Irish. I'm going to study Arts in Galway from September on, or so I hope, since I still wait for the official "announcement".
Same as Cecily, one of my life goals is learning, that's the reason I'm going back to University at the tender age of 43!
My blog is about personal development (and quite new) even though it didn't start out as such and since a few weeks now I enjoy reading Zen Habits.

Hi everyone. I'm a teacher and musician in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Zen Habits reader and a modest GTD'er. I'm looking forward to a great community developing here, and being able to hear about how people are changing their lives for the better using Zen Habits and other strategies. Maybe someday I'll have some insights of my own to share!
