Goal: sleep 8.
Result: slept 6.75.
Nonetheless: meditated, wrote morning pages, read The Artist's Way. Had a good weekend, feeling pretty centered.

I've been out of town and so haven't been checking in, but I'm back and ready to check in.

Goal: Get up every morning at 5:00 a.m. (monday through friday).

Progress: The Thursday and Friday of the week before last were both 5:30 a.m. wake ups. Then last week I got up at 7:00 Monday (late night flight), and got up earlier each day until I got up at 5:00 a.m. on Friday. I've been getting to bed in time to still get in a good 7 hours of sleep.

Today, I got up at 5:00 no problem and went for my run. I'm now on the 5:00 a.m. wakeup schedule (finally), so the trick now is to keep getting up at this time for the rest of the month (and beyond).

Of any and all goals I might have attempted this month, 19 days smoke free is by far the best one of all ! Almost all cravings are gone. I still get hit with a little trigger every now and then, but before I know it, it has passed. What a wonderful feeling to no longer be enslaved to an addiction that kills.

Thank you very much. A side to this is that I've also reduced the amount of coffee I drink. I have unfortunately gained a pound or three due to the change in metabolism, but that is for August to deal with.

Congratulations! I am currently at 58 days of no smoking myself.

Of all the research I did into smoking, the amount of weight gained by not smoking is so small it doesn't matter. I read it would take something like gaining 100-150 pounds of extra weight before it outweighed (no pun intended) the benefits of no longer smoking.

Goal: lose 1#/week through calorie max of 1600 per day.
Result: 2090 total (2540 food less 450 exercise.) I was hungry. Also, didn't have any veggies tonight for dinner - that makes a big difference in total calories and fullness. I am just so tired some nights after work, that I can't get it together to make the veggies. Maybe I need more iron.

Goal: study for the GRE 30 minutes a day.
Log: Success! Did quite a bit tonight, finishing my geometry review. Since that's the extent of the math tested on the GRE, from here on out I'm going to focus on practice tests. I'm at 14 days out of 23!

Watch list: exercise 20-30 minutes a day.
Log: Nope. It was rainy, and I was engrossed with a book.

Goal: No forums or RSS reading from work computer.

Weekend was a freebie. Managed again today, however. Now that Google search on the other hand . . .
oh well, that's not part of the goal! :-)

This is going so well, I can't wait to choose my goal for next month.

goal: exercise at least 30 minutes every day

I'm late to post for Monday, but I did go to swim practice. Another 2750 meters, and I felt really good afterward.
