Do you keep your old lists with day-to-day progress or lack of the same? Or do you just get rid of them each month? I am sitting here with April, May, June (on paper) and find it difficult to throw them away. It is like my invested time and effort somehow is confirmed by these papers. Any thougths?

So keep them for a while.
I read somewhere that there was a group of programmers (I think) that hung all their completed "to do" lists on the wall above their computers. It was a big jumbled mess of paper, but it was kinda cool - tangible evidence of what was DONE.
Put them in a folder, hang them on the wall... heck, if you had a very good month, frame it and put it on your desk at home.
Yeah, you could say it's 'clutter' and you probably won't want to keep them forever, but they're what you accomplished, celebrate it.

I love that they make their lists on large format paper too!
