Does anyone know of a good debt relief company I should take a look at? Thanx.

This reeks of spam.

Luckily, I am a forgiving individual and see the potential for a decent thread here.

How desperate is the situation? If you can still handle it yourself, not matter if it'll be tough, I really recommend avoiding a debt company.

p.s. - Sam, I can see what you mean

Go to Daveramsey.com start on his baby steps I did and I got rid of 37000 thirtyseven thousand dollars of credit cards Listen to his radio shows.
These types of companies will ruin your credit.

I'll second the DaveRamsey.com information. It's a good formula and works well if you have the discipline to get it done. Also, a good place to see others in worse-off situations than you...and see how they made it.

I too have a lot!!! of debt that I am curretnly trying to wither down myself. I owe a business that is making it even harder because I keep putting money into it as well. I have no idea how much longer I can hang on. I have tried to talk to my husband who has no idea how bad it really is. He does not understand how it could get so bad - he like to blame our kids and tells them to take shorter showers. It is really stressing me out. I do not know aht to do. I could use some really good advice.

Hey Cosmo,

Tell us more about your financial situation, if you don't mind sharing. Maybe we can brainstorm and think of some good ideas.

Personally, I've been using Mary Hunt's methods at cheapskatemonthly.com for years. It's a small fee to join, but I feel it's worth it. They will even waive all or part of the fee if you truly can't afford it. Her tool chest includes an interactive version of her method - stop getting into debt, budget for expenses that aren't monthly, but are still expected (Christmas, car registration), and snowball payments to your past debt. If nothing else, having a monthly reminder of what you are trying to do helps.

I was recently reading about Dave Ramsey on another message board and it sounds like a good way to pay off debt, but kinda scary at the same time............

Hi LonnyOmatic,

I don't know any debt relief companies but I do know a great money management system that will help with debt relief.

It's the JARS System from Peak Potentials. I've been using it for 16 months with a lot of success.
