Last week of this challenge... good luck all.

Goal: Wake up at 5:00
Done. Awake and out of bed by 5:00. I'm not going any earlier than 5:00 (original plan was 4:30) but the time to go to bed is perfect now, and waking earlier would also mean going to bed earlier.

I'm 25 out of 27 now.

Chain = -3

Today's Comment
Ouch! The wheels are wobbly. I've been stuck inside my head "checked out" the last 3 days or so. I'm starting to track my "chain" ... which is consecutive days of "success" (positive number) or "failure" (negative number).

Start Date: 08/07/2007

Goal: to do something everyday to forward my career.
Log: worked on a banner image for the redesign of XORsted. I think I will try to build my own WordPress template for this. 16 out of 27.

For this final week of August, my specific challenge is to:

- work at least 1 hour per day clearing out the storage room (2nd bedroom): donate, toss, and sell items.
- work at least 1 hour per day catching up paper filing & bills, get related action items up to date.
- pare down wardrobe (donate, toss, and organize clothes).
---

I had a good day today, logging 3 hours of focused work on the storage room, paring it down greatly.
And a solid hour on the paperwork, but nothing on the wardrobe today. I had an opportunity come up today
to grab a great apartment (I'm moving across the complex, was planned for 10/1) and move this Thursday
Aug 30, so I took it. If I hadn't pared down I wouldn't have been ready, so the last two days really
made a difference.

As a result, I'm going to need to shift my above goals for the rest of the week. I'm changing them to:

- work at least 4 concentrated hours per day packing everything into boxes (tu and wed)
- work at least 1 concentrated hour per day on the most critical paperwork (change of address, services)
- execute the move on thursday (8:00am - ??pm; est. 7-8 hours)
- finish baseline setup of the new place on friday.

This move will be a lot easier than it would have been 10, or even 5 years ago. I started my
"minimalization" about 15 years ago, and have chipped away at it aggressively every year.
I used to have a 3 bedroom house full of stuff, a Condo, and office, and 3 sizeable storage stalls.
Now, I have no storage stall and fit comfortably into an 1-bedroom apartment, without
clutter. And I greatly prefer it!!

On saturday I'll set goals for September, there will be some catchup early on the month, on the filing and
paperwork I'm delaying in order to get the move behind me.

Thanks for the accountability and group encouragement! I hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

#1 through #3 are complete. My sister is delighted to have the new machine and she can't wait to get broadband installed now. What wowed here were the Media Center and the new versions of the games. She's also eager to ditch AOL.

I am now {24 of 27 in August}.
