8:00 am is also fine, but not a minute later then that.

Last month I've tried waking up every day at 9:30, but failed. at the end I was waking up at 2:00 pm.
this time you're watching, and I'm gonna make it!

goodnight, see you at 7:30 am

Best of luck with your challenge, Denise!

It is also my goal for October to get up every morning at 7. I can pull off an occasional 7am wake-up call on weekdays, but the weekend is a huge problem and it resets my schedule to the old habit.

I just hope the alarm clock is going to be enough of a trigger! :)

My girlfriend and I are also making October our get up early goal month. I have a tendency to try changing too many things at once and then failing - so we're finally going to take it slow and just focus on this goal. I'm also going to start with 8am for the first two weeks and then 7am following that. Since I usually wake up around 11am that's an extra 3-4 hours per day and one of the things Leo always recommends but which I often forget about is to plan something to take the place to give you motivation. So, with my extra time I'm going to work on a personal website project that I've been thinking about for over a year now but haven't ever finished.

Happy motivating!

That sounds like a wonderful project, Iannie. Definitely worth getting up for! Maybe at the end of the month you can show us the completed website. ^__^

In my case, i want to wake up early so I can get to work early and subsequently get home sooner to work on personal projects. But I don't know what to make the immediate motivation for getting up on time. I'm not creative first thing in the morning, so all I really have to look forward to is work. :P This definitely makes it a challenge!

I wrote a post yesterday, but it somehow vanished :-(

Yesterday I got up in time, and was very proud.
Today I failed completely.

The difference was that yesterday I had something to do, and today I didn't.

This is gonna be a tough one... But I'm not giving up yet!

@aelita
@IANNIE
thank you for your encouragement,
How are you doing?

Today I got up at 7:45. I feel great! Proud but also surprisingly refreshed.
yesterday, I failed to mention, but I slept 'till 1:00 PM! I felt lousy all day... and guilty...
and the day before I got up 'cause I had to, but I wasn't refreshed at all.

Today I just got up to get up, and I'm actually doing my homework... I feel so diligent!

That's great that you're sticking with your goal!! I have yet to get up on time this week ... but I'll keep on trying. :)

Great Job! I am trying to get up early too. It seems like when you wake up at a decent time all your other goals get completed too, don't it? I wish you the best of luck and I know how horrible you can feel for sleeping in.

@SavedByGrace14: Thank you :-)

Today I got up on time, I had to go to class...

Tomorrows is going to be a challenge because I'm going out tonight. I'm not sure if I'll want to wake up, I've got every reason to want to sleep in, but I also know I'll regret it.

stay tuned

Edit:
p.s
@aelita: You know what they say, if you don't succeed at once, try, try and try again
I'm kinda using Leo's tip, which I read in a similar thread: once the alarm goes off I get up and go to the bathroom
And writing here also helps a lot, you should try it too!

Yesterday I got up at 11:30 am, partly because I got home late the night before but mostly because we had family over for 3 days, and though I love playing with my little cousin, after a couple of days I really needed some quiet time for myslf. so yeah, thats my excuse... :-P

But today I had some errands and I got up at 6:15 am !

my score ('cause all the cool kids are doing it):
4/6

Today when the alarm went of at 7:00 am, I told myself "just five more minutes", and then slept 'till 8:11 am . I'm gonna count this as a success because it's only 11 minutes of oversleeping (8:00 was the limit), and counting this as a failure would just discourage me...
But it did make me realize that I should pick one specific time to wake up at and stick with it, I think I'll try 7:30 for a few days and see how it goes.

5/7

good day!

Yesterday I got up at 9:00 am, but I was kinda sick that day.
Today I also got up at 9:00 am, though I feel better.

I'm a bit annoyed with myself, I'm using too many excuses and it's dragging me down. Tomorrow I'm having another go at 7:30.

and now a quote from Mr.T:

Also waking early in Oct. Although I am shooting for 4:15am. Missed it big time this morning
I was awake enough to not only hit the snooze but to actually reset the alarm for later. DOH!! Joker_01 This is my first challenge and although I am not at 100% for the month I feel as if having to report it here is giving me the motivation and support I have been lacking in my other attempts so ... Thanx everyone

Today I woke up at 8:30. a bit better, but still not good enough...

@mssujrry: My alarm is at the other side of the room, I have to get out out of bed to reset it for later. I can do this, go back to sleep, and not even remember I did it. :-P

At what time did you usually wake up before trying 4:15?

and yeah, I totally agree reporting here support, it really keeps you going :-)

Yesterday I got up on time (7:30am) 'cause I had to go to class.

Today I didn't, not even close, I went out last night and ended up going to sleep at about 3:30am I think.

Creating this habit is really hard for me, because I'm so good at sleeping. I think sleep was my escape for so many years. Even if now I only manage to wake up early every other day, it's also progress, but I'm still aiming to do it every single day, it just might take a bit longer than I thought.

yesterday and today I got up at 8:30, so at least I'm consistent.

I was thinking, how last month this was the hour I wanted to wake up at, but now that my goal is 7:30, I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with 8:30.
I mean, I kinda am, but it also feels that if stick with 8:30 I'm failing the challenge I gave myself this month.
What do you think?

Yesterday I got up at 9:30 because I stayed up too late the night before.
Today I got up at 8:30.
Tomorrow I'll get up at about 7:30 'cause I've got to go to class...

I think that this 8:30 thing is becoming a habit, and that I've got no real reason to wake up earlier at this point, so from now on it's 8:30 every day! :-)

Hi, denise-)
It sounds like you have quite the same goal as mine...
Great, that you try to experiment and to find your optimal time. To my mind, it's more important than 7:00 AM=) However, sunrise is rather beautiful (which i watch for 3 days every morning ;) )

So stay tuned 8) and Good luck
