Ugh. Not so good this morning. I got up on time at 6:30 but was distracted by a big family kerfuffle and didn't make it through my complete morning routine. I did do my writing task though, which was the new part I'm adding and the most important part so I'll count that as a partial success. I hope you're all having better luck than I am!

Just checking in, with about an hour to go in my workday: haven't had any sugar yet! I've had mostly crunchy, salty, protein snacks. I haven't gone without sugar at work in a looong time! Went to gym this afternoon, so I got away from my desk at least, which helped too.

I've been pretty consistent with following my meal plan. I did it yesterday (Oct. 2) and I'm feeling great! I'm 2-for-2!

Thanks, everyone, for participating. I hope to check in daily this month. :)

Challenge: Keep my desk clean.

Well, I cleaned my desk today. I did it by largely offloading most of the junk onto nearby shelves. Now I'll tackle the shelves one at a time, but I won't worry too much about keeping them clean and clutter free -- that's another challenge! While cleaning I discovered that I don't trust my trusted system. I need an entirely new trusted system I think.

Current desk contents: My ergonomic keyboard (which never leaves me bored), mouse, and cup of pencils and pens.

My work desk is presumably clean because I'm on vacation and will be for the rest of the week.

Goal: to avoid restaurant meals for the whole month.
Log: avoided the siren song of Mexican food while driving home from work. It's 9pm and I'm in my pajamas now, so I think it's safe to say that today was a success. 2/2.

I know it's only day 2 but I am glad that I decided to meditate even though I came home from school very late today. So far so good!

Goal: Eat Weight Watchers points target.

I ate better than I have been eating, but I still ate over my points target.

Breakfast: Blueberry pecan cereal and skim milk (5)
Lunch: Southwestern salad (10)
Dinner: (Japanese restaurant) miso soup, bites of crab salad and bbq squid apps, and 6 pcs Phoenix roll (sushi) (about 10)
Snack: 1 square dark chocolate (1), 1 piece cheddar cheese (2)
Total: 28

It helped knowing I had to log this today. On to tomorrow!

Despite being about 1 hour late, I am reporting in! I really only accomplished one goal today and that was waking up at 7. The other ones such as the meditation were cut out of the day due to tons of projects being due. I guess I could have followed the mini-meditation rule but I was crazy busy! Anyway, the exercising was taken care of on Monday so this week I'm going to do a M,W and F run rather than my scheduled SUN, TUE, and THU runs. So anyway! I did okay!

Why are so many people starting separate threads for their Challenges?

I think the reason for all the threads might be, permissions getting changed.
So individual threads are inadvertently getting created instead of being
slotted into the "What's your October challenge?" thread. They probably
could be moved over into that folder.

Work on marketing: allocate at least 30 minutes daily into working on
marketing-related tasks for my consulting practice.

I spent an hour kicking this work off today; so I'm 2:2 going into Wed Oct 3.

Challenge: Not pull hair out (20 year bad habit)
Log: It wasn't a pull free day but it was better than usual. 6 hairs all together which is good. I really didn't feel like logging this detail tonight since my goal is in a "freakier" league. But what the hell--perhaps my uncomfortableness logging this will lead to a pull free day tomorrow...

Well, I didn't get anything out my Next Actions folders done yesterday. Hectic day and then I got home late from a meeting. Lesson learned- do these things in the morning before the day gets hectic. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

I was able to do my personal writing project but unable to make my committed phone call.
i also wrote down my food.

Colleen, thanks for sharing, the hair pulling thing sounds like more than just a habit, it takes a lot of guts, good luck
