My November challenge, i think, will be to work at least :30 minutes each day on
articles for my new/blog newsletter. That's the next logical step after getting my
basic marketing plan in place. I'm sort of stumped about what to write about,
but have built a short list of ideas. Then again, I may think of something more FUN
for November. Anyway... there are nine days left for me to sort my Nov challenge
goal out!

Thanks for the reminder!
I was going to post such a thread myself, but it looks like you were faster. :)

I think I'm going to stick with the same goal as October, because I had a rough start and don't think I've really got it in place. So it'll be reading for an hour in the evening again.

Write 1667 words every day for National Novel Writing Month.
I completed it last year and plan to do so again.

I think I might give this a shot this year. It sounds like a lot of fun.

I've basically failed this month's challenge (get up regularly and pray), so I've picked an easier one for next month: take my vitamins every morning before breakfast. I usually put it off/forget about it because I hate taking them.
Edit: So much for picking an easier goal. Besides the vitamins, I'm also signed-up for NaNoWriMo. Yay, another dual-goal month!

I'm a bit behind schedule with my final project for school. The plan is to write at least 1 page every day for my book. I hope this will help me to finish on time and of course will give me time to make all the desing of the book. I will try hard to finish it!.

I'll be keeping my 8 AM plan, since I still want to do that, but I think I'll focus on something else.
Say... time management.
Starting with setting a plan up for the basics of each day (such as setting a single hour minimum limit for doing homework PER class, since I should be doing that now) and then acting out that as a daily thing. I should have started that at the BEGINNING of this year. Tisk.

Getting out of bed is the tough part for me. Once I'm up, it's all good. Then, I'll have time for my pet projects.

Does everyone know about Joesgoals.com for tracking these things?
I learned about it here, it is a nice accompliment to Zen forums.
I've been using it daily for 6 wks now, for me it has turned into
a great tool to build almost any new little habit (brush teeth mid-day,
no soda, etc) to support your work here. It has green (good)
checkmarks, red (bad) checkmarks, and logging for things like running
mileage or time. No affiliation, I'm just finding it great for positive
reinforcement every day - sort of like kindergarten "Gold Stars" for
adults:) I track 15 things on it daily, and have taken several off
because they quickly became second-nature habits.
Joe seems to be a pretty cool dude, he has written some interesting posts
about positiveness etc. Thanks to him for providing the free site programmed
with this unique visual goal-tracking capability! He just made a post about
Joesgoals.com getting the 1.5 Millionth checkmark:

I haven't participated much this month - and have many goals to work on.
I will probably make a list of goals (small and big) and look at it as a game/challenge in November. That gives me a week to get my act together. Lol.

I've participated in NaNoWriMo for 3 years, and my record word count is 10,000. I'm thinking if I get to 12,000, that'd be pretty sweet, and anything above that is gravy. The goal will definitely be to write everyday.
I fell off the fitness wagon a few months back because of allergies (2.5 months of constant sleep, nose blowing, and antibiotics later, I had a proper diagnosis). I was pretty hard core, and going back to that is overwhelming to think about. Last month's goal was getting back to yoga, and I made some progress at that for sure (before I found Zen Habits). For fitness in November, the goal is simple: add at least 30 mins of walking or hiking daily to the yoga routine.
My hope: I will walk/hike, then write, everyday. Eventually, I want to do writing work on blog posts daily (and maybe *post* 2-3 times per week as a result), I feel like the activities go hand in hand. Exercise can help me prep my brain as a walking meditation, think tank, or clarifying session, and the writing will just come naturally.
The trick is my schedule. It's not 9-5, and I work 2 part-time, shift-based jobs, so it should be an interesting challenge. But, I'll check in everyday, and that should help a lot!
:)

I just realized today, NOVEMBER is a big month for tracking goals!
For many, like myself, the last month in the year for really nailing
something that's been bugging you. With December having all
the distractions that it does, at least here in the US.
Great to see those of you who are already thinking about what to set goals
on, for (almost) the tail end of 2007!

There are a lot of habits I want to create but the most urgent one is better study habits, so that's what my November challenge is going to be .

This is my first time participating in a monthly challenge - as I am new to Zen Habits.
I'm very excited about the idea.
I've decided that my first challenge will be to get all of my things together to start school.
I've been out of highschool for a year, working and saving money to make going to school
a little easier [financially speaking]. I dedicate this month to getting everything together - applications,
financial aid, etc.
Spring Semester, here I come. : ]

Whoa - only a couple days until November.
Looking back on October, I only had a 52% success rate, which is not satisfactory at all in my eyes. So for the next couple days, I'm going to take inventory of what I do each day (starting today) to the smallest detail. From there, I'll create a daily schedule, with some flexibility (when things happen, not so much what happens). The 4 things I should already be doing but what I'm going to be working in each day:
At least...
1 Hour of Calculus 3 Studying,
1 Hour of Physics 250 Studying,
30 Minutes of Physics 275 Studying,
30 Minutes of Abstract Thinking (Proofs) Studying.
Keeping my waking up at 8 AM goal in the back of my mind, I know I can figure all of this out. Since its Monday, I figure I can fashion Mondays, Wednesdays and (mostly) Fridays after today (since Fridays are a little weird, since we try and play DnD on them), and then Tuesdays and Thursdays after tomorrow. I'll work on weekends when I get closer to them (since they're hardest to plan out).
Hopefully all of that will help me boost my grades a bit. :)
