What do you think about a sport which can help you have a healthy day ?
With me, running I think. It's easy and everyone can do it :)

Kickboxing. I had to take 2 PE credits for college, so my first one was aerobic kickboxing. My second was yoga. I love both. I find kickboxing gives me a nice toned look though. I'm skinny so no worry about weight, but I enjoy the toning. Yoga is nice, but alas I can't do it without a lot of modifications because of an issue with inversions and my bone structure in my feet. Kickboxing doesn't irritate either. In fact I liked, and missed it, so much that I just went today and signed up for a once a week kickboxing class.

Baseball is acceptable as well :) Occasional Basketball game, but man just plain ol' running is so boring to me...hard to stay with it even when rocking out to my favorite music through my Ipod.

I enjoy football as well, just not the American kind.
Actually, I take that back. I also do like me some American Football, especially when the Bears are doing well. I do wish Rugby was more popular here, and easier to watch, as that sport would better fulfill my blood-thirsty instinct. :P
Soccer, tennis, and skateboarding (although I am just getting back into that now as a means of transportation) have been my sports growing up. I also enjoy running, weight lifting, swimming, etc.
There are loads of fun ways of filling time.

Hey that is awesome...I also wish rugby was more popular around here. I am a huge bears/colts fan, I haven't been able to decide between the 2 my entire life, so last year was a trip. I am a cubbies fan through and through though, no questions whatsover. You from Illinois as well?

Yep, live in Chicago.
The Cubs are the only team that I really care about. The outcome of their games used to determine my mood years ago, and I've even been to three Cubs Conventions!
These days, I am much more passive about watching sports and am able to keep my emotions in check much more.

You guys must be a lot younger than I am!
I say swimming - it is low impact, but you can make the workout as tough as you want it to be.
The only trouble is finding the perfect location - to me, that would be a cool lake on a hot summer's day (not something I come across much in San Francisco.)

Not everyone can do everything.
Running or swimming used to be it for me.
Now its plain old walking. Sometimes biking.
Hullabaloo can be a work out if you really get into it LOL (sorry, I have a preschooler).

I'd second dance as well. Specifically salsa, though :) High energy, and you can feel the 'flow' and be totally 'present' :D
But running is awesome as well, I'm training for a marathon. My details for training can be found on my blog. The link is in my signature.

Cycling. It's a great feeling rolling by all of the cars stuck in traffic, with the fresh air and sunshine. I added a crate to my rack last week and biked all the way to Trader Joe's over some pretty intense hills, got my groceries, rode back, and had me some fresh fruits and veggies as a reward. How many other exercises can help get your groceries? :)

The best sport? Well how about any one you enjoy to do for the sake of just doing it, as that will only give you positive results in health and keep you consistent in staying active. Could be anything from playing frisbee with your kids, to running on the beach, to my personal favorites of playing ice hockey and mountainbiking.....of course it's all fun and games till you run into that tree! :D

Shooting hoops! I love it because I go out there with my husband and we get a great workout while we "play"---make loving fun of each other when we miss, tell each other "lucky shot". Its some of my favorite time with him.

I love running, but it is not for everyone. I'm only 39 and already have arthritis in one knee from a ski injury as a kid. I hate to admit it, but running is becoming more and more difficult to sustain. I even developed my first-ever shin splint, which turned into a stress fracture a couple years ago---my ortho says was from favoring my bad knee on the opposite leg.
So...as much as I personally love running and find there's nothing else that delivers the same results, I cannot say it is for everyone! However, swimming and yoga are for just about everyone! Weight training is important, too, esp for those of us approaching middle age! ;-)
I do think the best approach is to mix things up and do 2 or 3 different activities.

Yoga! Builds great strength, both core and elsewhere, and flexibility at the same time. Improves posture, breathing, relieves stress. I can't say enough.
Coupled with running, mountain or road biking, cross-country skiing, etc., yoga completes the workout package. But I've also maintained fitness by doing only yoga alone, especially very dynamic styles like Ashtanga, Bikram, or Power Vinyasa, which provide enough of a workout to get your heart rate up, and by doing it 4-5 times per week.

At this moment I'd say swimming. Because I tried running but it gave me back problems and mountainbiking too. Maybe that's the disadvantage of being a tall guy... :?
