Well folks I'm headed off to my regular Saturday morning distance run with my triathlon club. 6-8 miles today. Seem to still be doing well with capturing and becoming an e-mail ninja. Starting to look forward to February 1st!

We got back late from a concert last night so sticking to it was tough, but I did get a short session in and mapped out my day. Two home tasks, one already completed, another in progress.

After a lot of thinking about sleeping off the evening, I finally decided to run. Was able to run faster than before and completed the route in 38 min. (Previous best has been 43 min.) Now to slack off and enjoy the weekend. :)

After missing my goal for the first time yesterday, I'm back on track today. Two cat boxes and one ferret box cleaned.

I even spent some time getting caught up on (depressing) finances, which I didn't really expect to do.

I have kept up my meditiation daily practice for the month :continuing on from December

Planning for January is not happening- Taking a step backwards........to move forward

So for the rest of January I will do zen habit 1 - collect. Carry my notebook everywhere each day. I was trying to implement collect, process and plan- usual super woman behaviour that leads to procrastination. I am conscious that thee is still too many things in my head

Haven't reported in for awhile - been trying to limit my computer time. I'm 15 for 19 so far this month.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm on my way to bed.

Spent the day working on research... Two things: (1) Soil type/ geology of McLean County, ND and (2) the tribes of Indians that "peopled" ND. Most of that info (found thus far) is from the middle/late 1700's-- after small pox started wiping out whole populations. I have it narrowed down to:
-- Mandan
-- Hidatsa and Hidatsa proper
-- Arikara
-- Awatixa
All of these tribes lived in lodges along the Missouri. There is a reservation, Fort Berthold, home of the "three affiliated tribes," (Hidatsa, Mandan and Arakara).
Still need info on the use of tee pees by tribes in ND. I'd also like to find information about tools used (arrow heads, mallets, grinding tools, etc.)

Zipppo on photography.

Well, I have completely fallen off the wagon.

I think this has been my worst monthly challenge so far. Still, I'm not giving up. The things getting in my way are fairly clear--I haven't maintained any other good habits this month, most importantly my sleep schedule. Of course, I'm also up right now at 1:37am. But that said, I did just pray and read the Bible, so I added a number to my tally.

I guess the big reminder is that my life is a system and I need to find the most important things and maintain them, dare I say, 'religiously'. If I don't sleep enough I tend to oversleep and not have enough time to make lunch or a good breakfast in the morning which makes me weak and unfocused which causes me to be unproductive which sets me further behind at work which means that I skip exercising and stay up late catching up which means that I oversleep the next morning... You get the idea.

Tomorrow I'm going to pray, I'm going to read my Bible, and I'm going to get in bed before midnight. Anything else is gravy.

Fell off the horse yesterday due to work hecticness. Ironically, when the scrums at work go off the clock, so do I for some reason. Maybe it's because I'm allowing them to project onto me, or the judgement of the managers with some kinds of 'Ok, now we'll get out of this scrum nonsense and get some real work done for a change.\

[list:8d0a172574][*:8d0a172574]Cut down on alcohol (continued report from December): Fail. I was out with friends and had a few drinks. It was a nice weekend - now I will resume with the positive trend from the days before. 16/19.
[*:8d0a172574]Work on improving self-awareness and self-confidence (read my statements to myself every day): Fail. I came home VERY late and was too tired to read my statements. 17/19.

Yup, did it. A lot of spending, too. I wish I didn't feel such strong urges to spend so much on decorating and outfitting my new home. Oh, well. The end of the month reconciliation will be interesting, and may lead to some substantial changes.

Good luck to everyone out there as we head into Sunday,
