I come into this day with {10 of 10 for April}.

Promise: 1 hour on accounts and finances each day.

It is getting harder. Now I need to start collating receipts and other records so that they fit into the categories I need as part of tax records. I want to get where my financial condition is accurate up to within a few days and can be brought completely up to date in a few hours.

Today is my off Friday (I work a 9/80, with every other Friday off), but I'm going in for awhile to try to get ahead on an urgent project. I will, therefore, bring the last of the frozen dinners. I already have plenty of snacks from bringing them every day.

I'm finding that a big roadblock for me is cooking every week without fail. I often won't do this because the dishes I need are dirty, and I >hate< washing dishes. Hate it. So I think maybe I need to work on forming better habits surrounding my dish-doing. Perhaps that would be a good, simple task for next month (if that's not thinking too far ahead). I'd hate to fail this month for such a silly reason, and I have to admit that I'm teetering on the edge of failure. I'm also having a tough time sticking to the yoga routine I established last month. There always seems to be something else I need to do in the morning -- usually something involving the damned internet. That's another set of habits that I may have to address soon.

Well, good luck to all. I'm off.

4/9: 8:35 this morning. Good enough! That's the earliest I've been all week! Significant improvement, AND good motivation for next week. I'm going to try and not get up too late this weekend, either, although I won't be tracking it or setting much of an alarm, I'll try and not linger in bed till noon. (9:30 or 10:00 would be late enough). Maybe that will make Monday morning a bit easier...

I'll be going to the gym tonight after work. I'll keep you posted!

@HappyWriter: Thanks for the tips! I've actually tried the multiple alarm thing and the bladder thing before, and they've worked quite well in the past... problem is, lately, I've been letting my lazy morning self talk myself into going back to bed once I'm up... I used to have the habit of making the bed as soon as I got up, that helped as well, but it faded and now, with the bf in there it's a bit harder. He has been a great motivator this past week though, so I guess he makes up for being warm and cuddly :P

Bottom line is: I kind of *need* the motivation to come from within. Tricks work for a while with me, but then my way-too-sly-for-my-own-good brain finds a way to talk itself out of what it's supposed to be doing! Oh well, I'm getting there!

Thanks for the encouragement! (And sorry about the long post)

Edit: 8/11 Went to the gym, did a nice long cardio workout. I actually enjoyed it! :D

Did not meet this goal yesterday, largely because I took a couple friends out sailing and then went out to dinner and didn't get home until 9:30. Today will be tricky because I have company coming for dinner and cleaning the public rooms will be a higher priority, but I'll try to get it done.

MfC, I made getting the dishes washed before I go to bed a goal for awhile and pretty much got in the habit, although it's not as hard for me because I don't particularly mind washing dishes (it's vacuuming I hate), it was more just getting home late and being tired and not feeling like it. I also do a lot of my cooking using a nonstick saucepan and a crock pot, which clean up easily, and a properly seasoned cast-iron skillet, which never gets washed as a matter of principle. And I don't own a food processor--cleaning the blender is bad enough.

9:20 today.
I'm going to break this goal down next week and get in incrementally earlier:

M 9:00
T 8:45
W 8:30 (to Conference)
T 8:15
F 8:00

If that doesn't work, I'll work on the incremental part some more. I also need to get my clothes and lunch ready the night before, which I hate to do. I just ordered some new clothes, something I've desperately needed to do, so expanding my wardrobe a tad will give me more options (trust me) for getting ready the night before.

I'll get some lunches ready over the weekend too, like something I can put in the freezer.

Challenge met for the day, and this time I was productive and got something important done.

VeroSwing: I know exactly what you mean about motivational tricks wearing off! I'll find something that works for me for a few days or a few weeks, and then it seems to lose its effect and I have to hunt up a new motivator. Our brains are smarter than we are!

Normal day. All goals achieved. The only problem is that my goals are business-week oriented, so my score goes down on weekends. But I don't care, I think I'm doing it quite well.

Wednesday, yesterday and today. . . remembered to keep time chart, forgot to check in here & say so! I'm already becoming more productive at work thanks to just increasing my mindfulness that little bit. I got a lot of old moldy tasks out of the way this week, and am looking forward to moving on to some more interesting tasks next week.

I feel as though I did this today. Except when I got
a check I felt better. I want this to be a reminder that
money does not buy happiness but it does reduce stress.

Right now I am living paycheck to paycheck which doesn't have to be.
I can work hard yielding in money. But at the core that is not
the purpose of why I want to work.

Also food is necessary for happiness and motivation. A given but true.
But when you don't have money you don't have food. So,
hard work yields good food yields happiness.
