Cheers for those....some of them do make my head buzz though :)

I think the koans on that third site are more parables etc rather than koans in the strictest sense of the word.

Hmm. I don't get it. I just read this one:

Love Openly

Twenty monks and one nun, who was named Eshun, were practicing meditation with a certain zen master.

Eshun was very pretty even though her head was shaved and her dress plain. Several monks secretly fell in love with her. One of them wrote her a letter, insisting on a private meeting.

Eshun did not reply. The following day the master gave a lecture to the group and when it was over, Eshun arose. Addressing the one who had written her, she said, "If you really love me so much, come and embrace me now."

What is the point?

My interpretation is that one should show love out loud and not hide it

Oh. I thought of that but it seemed too obvious.

I thought a koan was supposed to be an 'enigmatic or paradoxical question'. Instead it sounds like a moral tale with a missing punchline ("... and then one of the monks stands up and yells 'that's not Eshun! That's my wife!"). Therefore, I share Jon's confusion.
