Sunaina, maybe you should post this on the daily check-in thread that's designated for each day's update?

This thread is for posting your goal for the month, not necessarily updates.

Annnyway, my goal for this month is to do something that makes me need water. Every day. If I don't exercise, I'd better be getting some work done. If I don't do either of these, I'd better at least do some sit-ups or some motion every day. I know that the key for me to stop being so unmotivated is to get up early and get moving. I've been trying to get up earlier with moderate success (cut from 10am to 9am). I'd really love to get up really early and get my day done by the time I have my afternoon international phone call.

So, in summary, that's:
- Get up before or at 8am
- Do a thirst-provoking activity
- Quench that thirst

heh. I've been doing a good job cutting out sodas by making my own tea. Some things just are NOT good with juice, water, or milk, and tea makes a great option that is corn syrup free.

This is a much bigger challenge than last month's because of the amount of preparation involved. Having done it for a few days now I realise I need to overhaul my shopping lists, shop further afield, change my usual dinner menus...

Last month I enjoyed hearing about what my fellow forum habitués find in their kitchen sinks - probably too much enjoyment, maybe I should be worried about that. Anyway maybe this month I'll pay back with all my adventures in search of exotica like wholemeal pasta (very difficult to find around here).

Going with entering all expenditures into Quicken within 48 hours. I guess I'll have to exempt the last two days of the month because I don't plan to take my computer on vacation.

Hi all,
My goal this month is to finish my morning routine of yoga, exercise, breakfast and shower by 10 am so I can get to work on time. Good luck to all!

Last month went pretty well, only skipped a few days.

This month I want to do 30 minutes of jogging before work at least two days a week, to contribute towards my goal of burning 1450 calories a week due to exercise (I got a heart rate monitor so I can finally track these things a little more accurately).

I've already been doing this for a week :)

Same goal as last month and one new thing. Keeping the procrastination at minimum and start to wake up every morning at 5 am. http://phantom-bug.blogspot.com/

Hi I am new here. Recently discovered Zen Habits and I love this site.

My July goal is to read the scriptures everyday. I am a bit late into the game, but I am in now :D

My main challenge is to eat set meals as well as to stop eating half a can of ice cream daily.
The easier habits I am working on is going to bed by ten, going for a five minute walk when I wake up, and studying set subjects until I finish a section every day.

Its been more than a week and I havent followed any schedule, I feel so demotivated, infact I do not feel like doing anything. I amnt able to assess why, but I just do not feel like following any schedule. I have become lazy and its been more than a week since I attended my yoga classes or have done any sudoku. I just do not know where my inspiration and motivation have gone. Infact I read the article "16 ways to get out of slump" in which it says commit publicly and seek motivation by writing in the forum. Hopefully I will ge some help.

I won't be making the switch this month, but I do want to post on my blog about it at least once per week.

Hi everyone. I just found this site 6-27-09. I'm confused - was the last post a year ago.
Anyway I think being accountable for your goals is a great idea.

In July 09 I would like to focus on getting up at 4:30am. I love the morning when I'm the only one up.
Drink a bottle of water.
Read a chapter in the bible
Meditate on it.
Have moment of gratitude
Then run 3 miles as I always do.

The big improvment for me would be timing - waking up the same time everyday. Currently my day starts late and I end up skipping some things or showing up to work late. (usually get up 6:00 and 7:30)

If no one else is participating then I will be accountable to myself....

I've already started my July 09 new habits. I forgot how great exercise makes me feel. Want to edit the time I wake to 4:00 instead of 4:30 and change the reading to life coach study. 4 in the morning is the only time I can get some focused reading done.
