Good morning all!

Made up my pasta salad this morning. It's getting to be routine now - though it helps that I'm also getting up half an hour earlier.

Wasn't able to go to the gym again! Also not feeling motivated or good. Tsk!
Made good in June, and now failing miserably this July.

1. MUST do what I did on June that worked for me.
2. Must recover lost time tomorrow.

-Will certainly declutter and re-organize tomorrow.-

Sounds like I'm not the only one off to a rough start this month! Bad beginnings don't equate to failures though. Keep working at it everyone :D

Didn't get up at 6:30 and didn't go for my morning bike ride 4/9, 4/9

I did shave and brush/floss/mouthwash 4/9, 6/9

Hmm... got distracted on my laptop here again last night, after PROMISING myself to get to bed by 10:30. These forums are too interesting! I seem to be spending inordinate amounts of time reading and writing and thinking about changing my life, and not acting on it!

Still, was in bed around 11. Need to go MUCH earlier if I'm going to avoid the junk food my husband and teenager have stockpiled. When I'm working in the kitchen I can't seem to stay away from it. Today I really had difficulty getting out of bed, but managed by 9:30.

My problem is that I've chosen to take some time off work to accomplish things around my home, set up an outside office (which I've done), and help my parents out of town move to nursing home care. They are at a standstill, my beautiful little office sits and awaits my regular attendance, and the housework is still not getting done! I need to establish a routine. SOOO, do I simplify my goals, ie go back to JUST trying to get to bed by 10pm? Or do I bring in the big guns of organization, and have mega lists all over the place to get done what I need to? I am really struggling with motivation.

Just re-read my post. "Working in the kitchen" means on my laptop on the kitchen table. Maybe that's the problem. Today I am going to tidy up my mini office beside the kitty litter (yuch), and park my laptop there. Maybe set the table up in the kitchen for eating, so I can't "work" there. All in all this might get me out to my office. But how to schedule housework?

Didn't get up this morning to jog because of a sore neck and shoulders. I think I injured myself even worse yesterday because I went jogging. Tsk. Today I'll hold off on the jogging so I can pick back up tomorrow. Today I will focus on light cleaning duties and meditating and reading. Have a great Wednesday. Ashley S.

I have changed my goal. I see what I was doing wrong. I was focusing on what I don't want to do whereas I am placing my focus on what I do want.

So instead of not eating junk food, I am going to focus on eating healthy food.

New Goal: For the next 7 days, I have to make at least 3 healthy choices in a day.

I have to change my focus, I realize that I hate eating healthy food. There is a mentality that by default thinks "Healthy food is not tasty or delicious". If I received the same amount of satisfaction from healthy food then I do not need to eat the bad stuff.

This should be fun.

Simple concept bigdaddysheikh, but brilliant! I am going to reword my housework to do list to emphasize the benefit for myself! I hate housework, but it will unclog my brain when I get started on it. Here I go, getting started! Thanks for the motivation!

Mmm so I actually just discovered this thread and it's right before bedtime for me. My challenge is mainly to wean myself off eating so much ice cream. Today didn't exactly work and I ate half a can. On the bright side, that was the last one and there is no longer any ice cream in my house. This should lead to a pretty good start!

Okeydoke. After realizing I was avoiding tasks at home for all the right reasons (I hate them), and turning it around so that I could visualize the BENEFITS for myself, I had a super productive day. The only problem is that it is 10:11 pm and I am still working at my office. Should be heading home and to bed! I managed 4 carloads of books and binders to my office, and have accomplished more in the last 12 hours than the rest of the month! Yeah! Home to bed...

Goals for July:

No eating after 8 (done...I'll stay away from the kitchen when I get home)
To bed by 10:30 almost there, work close to home. Hopefully no distractions. Won't turn on my laptop when I get home.
Do one household task every day: Tackled my home office and shipped tons of stuff out.

I got up late, but I had a productive day. Half a point.
4/7

No workout, I tried to go visit a friend who's been feeling down, and he wasn't even there. Oh well, poor decision-making, I guess.
4/9

No reading.

Fred's Challenge:
I will do something everyday in the process of selecting the best on line masters program for me.

Today:

1. Talked to another alumnus of MASCL program.Things we spoke about: developing a routine for study and what seperates the good from great in this program , which is going above and beyond what is required.

2. Worked more on application for SHU. The letter is actually part of the online application. This makes things somewhat easier, asI now have a format to follow.
